Dom Turner & Supro: "Electro Vee": Release Date - 4th September 2000 through Shock Records

 A Brief Bio:

Songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Dom Turner (known primarily as a founding member of 'Backsliders', Australia's most awarded blues band) has recently embarked on a variety of solo projects.

As well as the Backsliders, Dom has been working writing songs for the celebrated ABC television's 'Sea Change' program playing live gigs with his 'kooky' outfit Supro as well as session work (Dom's guitar features strongly on Rob Hirst's (Midnight Oil) 'Ghostwriters' Second Skin CD).

Dom's live troup, Supro are essentially a vehicle to showcase songs written over the past 2 years for the new release solo album "Electro Vee" (September 2000 release through Shock records) The sound is definitely blues based, with a heavy electric slide guitar focus, however, surf sounds, bayou, delta and zydeco creep in creating more of an eclectic mix that any one genre. Alongside tracks with Supro, are world music compositions by Dom Turner with Zo, essentially a mix of dub, blues with a flavour of Asia.

Joining Dom in the live gig format are:

bassist Dave Harding (Red Rivers and the Rockettones) and keyboardist, Alison Penney (ex Hippos).
